Up and running

Thanks for the update. Managing fonts is easy now, here is my five star as promised.

Now the bug is fixed

Now the app is working fine. The support helped me- thanx - Nevertheless I fell like a beta tester...

Lives Up To My Expectations

The app allows you to create journal entries to whatever length you prefer with addition of photos and emojis to go tag into the entry. The only problem is it won’t allow you to change the automatic lock timer from 1 minute. Everytime you choose another number it reverts back to 1 minute after you close the prefernces window. Also I wish you could attach video clips to the entries too instead of just pictures. Other than that it works like a charm and you can organize it to your preference of date, tags or by title

Poorly done

I just purchased this app and It does not work well. When you try to attach any type of emoticon, the app goes into a freeze and takes forever to load. When you try to modify an entry, it just says continously updating but never does. This app is slow and not worth the money. It has a good overall idea and if these problems are fixed, it might be worth it to keep. If I could get my money back at this point I would. Buyer beware.

Can’t add a new Day?

I would really like this app but, I can’t figure out how to add a new day? Or when I did I seem to have lost an earlier one? There is no help or no instructions.

Bad

Do not download this app. I have lost my writings.

The #1 Best New App?

No sync, no iOS app, poor design…

the icon is pathetic

I like the app, to be honest. What REALLY bother me, is the icon. looks like a childish kitch design. Hope they change it.

no autosave, no password forgiveness

Started using the app it was good but doesn’t autosave. I also forgot my password and the option to forward it to my email does not work, nor does contacting the company as they have not responded to any of my emails. I wouldn’t mind so much if i hadn’t writted important things on there.

Perfect!

I just started using this journal today…So far it is perfect for what I need. To write my thoughts, my daily bible reading (this is my own addition to its use) and I can even take a photo of me to add to what I look liked when I wrote it (optional). You can actually add more than one photo and more than one journal on the same day. I love it! I don’t use social media because I don’t necessarily want to publish my thoughts in that way. Mostly its my personal communication with myself and with the Lord (again that is what I do with it), it is not necessarily a Christian journal, I just use it that way. Great buy… I dont have to carry around a paper journal. Love it love it love it….

A Good App For Thinkers

I am so thankful for this app. I really needed something like this to record my thoughts and feelings. It allows me to keep my writings private with password protection, I can post photos, and its not connected to Facebook or other social media. It is easy to use. My only concern is that it doesn’t allow you to post through your iPhone, but really that’s ok I can live with that.

Looks good, fails to perform

I just downloaded this app tonight. It appears to be a very simple, straightforward app for writing a journal. So far, it has crashed three times, lost / failed to save the three entries that I entered, and is generally user un-friendly. I also set it up to use a password, but when I launch the application, it goes directly to the entries without entering the password so it has no security.

Promising, but password protection has major flaw

I purchased Daily Journal about a week ago and have used it quite a bit since then. For the most part, I like the feel and functionality of the app. Getting to your previous entries is not as intuitive as it should be, but that’s a minor complaint. What really bothered me was learning that the password protection is incredibly weak — sure, the password prompt pops up when you open the app, but the application menus at the top of the screen are still available. If you select “View all,” the app lets you in without ever having gotten the password…making the protection pretty much nonexistent. If it weren’t for this glitch, I would unabashedly endorse this app. Being that I downloaded it expecting a level of security, though…I will be replacing it.

Well, that’s a loss….

Have enjoyed getting started with this new writing project for the last two weeks. Unfortunately today the program decided to lock up. A quick “Forced Quit” and eveything is lost. I’ll try some minor entries for a week and see if it does it again.

There are some issues with:

Typing: The characters seem to be cut off at the sides, as if the writing area is wider than the viewing area for the writing. That is odd, and distracting. Also some of the text autocorrect hilighting is annoying. It seems to want me to change some of the syntax to meet some absurd use of the english language that I’m not familiar with. Perhaps it’s the spell checking inherent in OS X. Sometimes that ‘feature’ gets bogged down in rather strange syntactic battles of no consequence. Cut and paste: I cut a large area of text out, and when I went back to continue typing, the typeface had changed somehow. That is again odd, and distracting. The app seems to show a lot of promise, but there are a few small UI issues that make it rather distracting to operate, that distract from using this app. I will give it more time, to see if it grows on me, but there does seem to be some room for some fine tuning of some rather obvious and glaring small flaws… Also the link for Daily Journal Support goes to a page for one of their other apps. There is a support contact form at that site, but the pulldown on that form for the app in question needing support doesn’t include either this app, or its sister travel journaling app. That should probably be fixed on their end.

Not sure yet

I just bought this app and I am not able to set the password. That is the main reason I bought a journal app so I’m not happy. I am able to fill in the password and the email id but then I can’t save it. The only way to get out of the screen is to hit cancel… I give it 3 stars for now in the hopes that I can figure this out...

Security Issue

The app thus far works spectacular. The issue is that will not allow a password or email to be saved. Luckily I am the only user of my Mac. However why is this password protected if you can not utilize a password? I want the password protection to function correctly. I paid good money for this work as advertised and it is not! Not enthused about that non functioning aspect of the app.

This app did not save a single entry that I made

I labored over a number of long diary entries. I was going to ad photos to the last entry when all of a sudden all my entries disappeared and the app kept telling me that I had made no entries. I’m truly upset about this and I want to warn others not to use this app unless they also want to lose all the hours of work they did making entries. I want my money back. I am so disgusted with the developeer over this I want to scream. Dennis Shapiro PS Save yourself thre grief and do not buy this lousy app.

Only worth it if they fix it

I just bought the app and there are a few problems that I am seeing. 1) It doesnt seem to readily save. I do not have confidence that all of my preferences will save *every time* 2) I cannot go back and edit past journals and add style (bold, italics, underline). It simply does not allow me to. I like the flow and design but if they do not fix these problems then the app is useless. I would wait, if you want to purchase this app, until the next iteration and update. Even though it is only two dollars it is not worth it if the journals dont even save!

Can’t reset my password

I’ve had an issue with my password and there is never any support for me to change it - no emails to change it have ever been sent. VERY FRUSTRATING!
